College of Public Health and Health Informatics

The College of Public Health and Health Informatics at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences has been established by virtue of a decree issued by the University Council in its first session of the academic year 1427/1428 H. corresponding to 2006/2007 G. held on 28/11/1427 H. corresponding to 19/12/2006 G. The College is a remarkable accomplishment of the Saudi health education as it is the first college in this specialty in the Kingdom and the Gulf region, and probably in the Middle East. The College aims to spread knowledge and provide students with the academic qualifications and skills in various majors of Public Health and Health Informatics with academic excellence as its ultimate goal. To satisfy the aspirations of the community and those of Public Health and Health Informatics stakeholders, the College aims to graduate leaderships equipped with knowledge, high skills, and ethics based on sound scientific foundations. It also aims to conduct distinguished research works related to decision- making based on evidence and information.

The College of Public Health & Health Informatics aims to merge administrations of health systems with concepts of public health and demographic studies, analytic potentialities of epidemiology, medical economics, health awareness activities, and health environment campaigns into an effective impact of a better outcome in terms of the citizens’ health. This integration is innovative in itself. Based on concerted efforts of all health organizations, this integration is expected to bear promising fruits.

The College of Public Health & Health Informatics, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, has the following specialties: Health Informatics, Health Organization Systems and Management, Epidemiology and Statistics, Public Health, Health Awareness, Health Economics, Demographic and Reproduction Studies, and Environmental Health.
