Master’s program in health informatics
The Master’s program in health informatics aims to overcome the severe shortage of qualified capabilities in the field of health informatics technology. Graduates of the program shall contribute to the management, development, and application of health informatics technology at hospitals and health centers, and solve the problems that may impede the advancement of health informatics and its utilization. Being the first of its kind specialized in the technology of health informatics in the Kingdom, the program boasts a panel of faculty members who obtained PhD degrees from highly prestigious universities known for their specialties in health informatics and computer science.
It is worthy of note that the Saudi health sector has witnessed a significant progress in recent decades. Local health services have become of an international standard. However, this positive aspect has not been accompanied by an advancement of health informatics whose applications have become a must for hospitals to achieve certain objectives such as upgrading the quality of healthcare services, time saving, and cost reduction.
In the light of the difficulties facing Saudi students interested in obtaining a graduate degree from an overseas university, the College of Public Health and Medical Informatics offers the Master’s degree in health informatics to the international standards in this specialty with a view to becoming the beacon of progress and advancement in health informatics technology in our dear country.
