International Nursing Day

Preparation for the Nurses day started at the beginning of May in anticipation of the celebration, which usually take place on the 15th.

Nurses of the future took the responsibility for all the preparations.

The program started with verses from the Qura’an. This was followed by short talks given by Dr.Mohga El Refai, Head of the Nursing Department, Dr.Naya Shahinpour, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Dr.Bothyna Murshid, Dean of the College of Nursing, in which they congratulated the students and the audience on this happy occasion. The students then presented a variety of items, which included poetry and plays, emphasizing nurse-patient relationship and the way in which the nurses should respond to the need of the patient and his family. One of the notable items was a talk a student on the importance of positive environment in the context of the patient and health care team. Appreciation certificates were then awarded to students with high GPAs.
